Cumin (Cuminum cyminum L.) is an important seed spice crop, having good medicinal properties and grown predominately in arid semi-arid region of the world. India leading country with share 70% world production cumin. Two states (Rajasthan Gujarat) cover nearly 80% total area under cumin cultivation. The current scenario status area, productivity has been reviewed to identify various factors affecting productivity. Apart from these major constraints related climate, soil, agronomical, crop input, extension, marketing farm mechanization their management are discussed thoroughly. Due low there need focus on integrated approaches such as utilizing modern technologies, advance agronomic practises, interventions advanced breeding tools enhance production. study reveals alternative solutions overcome problems evidenced that huge scope improve reduce drudgery farmers.
